Professional Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist
Henry Rasu (also known as Henry Abraham) is a California-licensed, professional cosmetologist who has worked for the past 10 years in Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Orange County on fashion and editorial photo shoots, weddings, private and public events, and video productions, as well as salon management. In 2014 Henry won two prestigious awards: Top Master Stylist of Southern California and Best Technical Performance for Hair and Make-up at Orange County Fashion Week in a competition with seven finalists.
Henry started his career at 18 and became a practicing cosmetologist by the age of 21. Working for one of the largest film and photo studios in Asia, he did hair and make-up for runway shows, films, soap operas, TV series, and a daily national news program. By the time he was 22, he was leading teams of hair stylists and make-up artists.
Knowing how to recognize each person’s best features is at the heart of his work. Because of his background in show business, he is skilled at integrating the entire look from head to toe, and he works with each client to develop the perfect look for the occasion. He works with editors, fashion designers and stylists, photographers, models, artists, modeling agencies, and creative teams.
His work includes 31 published stories in 22 magazines in the U.S., U.K., Europe and Australia, including 10 cover stories. Recent projects include a 2014 music video for Latin Recording Artists, Musik Junkies featuring Adassa; a runway show for Viva Glam Magazine in Los Angeles; and advertisements for Tiffany & Co. for Balboa Bay Club and Black, Starr & Frost Jewelers. Henry was nominated by Michelle Long, Editor in Chief of Avant Garde Magazine, as one of the Top 7 Stylists of Orange County, California in 2014. He has also done professional work for charitable causes, including SPIN, a celebrity video project to benefit the homeless in Orange County, and the Top Master Stylist Competition at OC Fashion Week, which benefited Mission Hospital in Orange County. His most recent editorial project is the cover story for Vape Magazine December 2014 featuring Playboy's 2013 Playmate of the Year, Raquel Pomplun.
Henry is the stylist for the Kicka Design headdresses for the Sue Wong Collection Fashion Show for Style Fashion Week Los Angeles, October 2014.
